When expecting parents enter a baby store for the first time, they are usually overwhelmed by the diversity of the range. The question quickly arises: what must be of this, and what can safely remain in business? Does it have to be the super expensive diaper pail that conveniently packs the smelly diapers odorless or is the simple model from the hardware store enough? for this reason thee parents want to learn how to care baby?
Does the baby need an electrically powered seesaw or a crawling and play blanket? Should you buy a changing table? One thing is very clear, many things are nice-to-have, but don’t necessarily have to be. In this post, we will show you what you need for your offspring, what things you can safely do without, and what is in it if you still have a few dolor in your wallet.
YOU KNOW TO LEARN HOW TO CARE YOUR BABY:
When it is your first child, you will quickly notice that you hardly have to buy anything yourself. Friends, family, colleagues, all of them will most likely ask you: “What is still missing?”, “What can I give?” And “What else do you need for the baby?” Without a wish list, you will quickly get a lot of duplicate things instead of the things that are useful to you.
Put all the things mentioned below and whatever else you can think of on this wish list. Then you can share this list with your friends and acquaintances so that they can then order things from this list. This is then noted on the list so that there are no duplication. More than just practical!
CLOTHING
Of course, your baby needs clothing, for inside and outside. When buying baby clothes, make sure that it is made of skin-friendly materials and that it is not exposed to strong coloring or chemical processing. The organic seal for baby clothing can give you security here. Which clothing you should buy depends a lot on whether your child is born in summer or winter. We recommend that you get the following items of clothing to start with.
FOR HOME:
- 6–8 bodies, depending on the season in short or long sleeves (sizes 56–68)
- 6–8 sweaters (size 56–68)
- 2 small hats for inside
- 6 rompers (size 56–68)
- 3–4 tights
- Three pairs of thick and thin baby socks each
- 3–4 one-piece pajamas (size 56–68)
- 2–3 sleeping bags in the shortest size
ON THE GO:
- 2 hats, according to the season
- 2 jackets (size 62–68)
- Possibly a lined winter suit
- A blanket, because small babies tend to cool down quickly
CHANGING, BATHING, AND GROOMING
Here, too, the market offers a variety of different cosmetic and care products for babies. In the following, you can read what you should not do without.
- Diapers in the smallest size
- A diaper pail with a lid
- Wet or oil wipes to keep the buttocks clean
- A protective cream for baby’s sensitive buttocks
- A baby bath
- Baby-friendly bubble bath
- A care lotion for after bathing
- A soft brush
- Rounded nail scissors
- Washcloths, towels
- Muslins as burp cloths
FEEDING AND BREASTFEEDING
Breastfeeding women don’t have a hard time here. All you need is 4–5 well-fitting nursing bras and nursing pads. If your wife doesn’t want to or can’t breastfeed, you should get the following things:
- 6 baby bottles with teats size 1 for milk
- 2–3 tea teats
- 1 bottle brush
- Infant formula (pre-milk). It is best to discuss which milk is suitable for you and your partner with the midwife or pediatrician at the maternity hospital
- Nice-to-have: A bottle sterilizer, alternatively the bottles can also be boiled in a pot with boiling water.
- 1 bottle warmer so that the milk does not get cold during long breaks.
THE NURSERY
Mum and dad can let off steam here. However, not everything pleasing is necessarily a must. However, the following things belong in the children’s room:
- 1 cot with a good mattress
- 2–3 sheets
- 1 changing table or a changing attachment for the cot
- 1 heat lamp above the changing area
- 1 changing mat
- 1 mobile
- 1 comforter
ATTENTION: CHILD ON THE WAY! SO THE OFFSPRING ALWAYS ARRIVES SAFELY AND SAFELY
If you want to travel with your baby, you have to buy some things that are not exactly cheap. That is why many parents often look here for used copies. But unfortunately, it does not work without these helpers. This is what the baby needs on the go:
- 1 child seat or baby seat is mandatory for driving in the car!
- 1 stroller with removable carrycot so that it can still be used with increasing age.
- Thick blanket or footmuff
- A sling or baby carrier for short distances on foot
- A diaper bag with all the necessary baby care items
You see, you need a whole lot of utensils for your baby. Most things, however, will accompany you through your child’s entire baby life and only need to be purchased once. However, your baby will outgrow other things quickly. Especially, from clothing. But teats for the milk bottles or the car seat also have to be adapted to the age and size of your child at some point. If you have all of the above in the house, not much can go wrong with your baby for the first time — at least they learn how to care baby.
Do you have a few dollars left? Then these things are not essential for survival, but they are nice.
- Play or crawling blanket so that you can put your offspring on the floor
- A playpen so that the baby cannot run out as soon as it becomes more mobile
- A bassinet in which the child can sleep during the day
- A nursing pillow makes it easier for the mother to hold the child when breastfeeding. But it can also be quite useful while sleeping
- A breast pump, preferably electric. In this way, your wife can build up small supplies of milk so that she can go out of the house without a guilty conscience or sleep through the night.
- And last but not least: toys, toys, toys. There are very few limits to your wishes here, apart from those of your wallet.
